The meetings within the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia facilitated by the European Union will take place today in Brussels.

As the EU had confirmed earlier, these meetings will be at the level of chief negotiators.

As in previous times, it is first expected that there will be bilateral meetings of the EU's Special Representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, with the head of the Kosovo delegation, Besnik Bislimi, then with that of Serbia, Petar Petkovic.

Later, if there is readiness of the parties, there will also be a joint tripartite meeting.

According to sources from the European Union, a series of issues will be discussed at these meetings, including the implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalization.

The last meeting at this level within the dialogue facilitated by the EU took place on October 23 in Brussels. Since then there have been no other meetings.

According to the diplomatic sources of the EU, Lajcak has meanwhile reported to the representatives of the member countries about the state of the dialogue and said that the parties have shown a clear lack of readiness and will to make any progress in implementing the agreement on the road to the normalization of relations. .

Meanwhile, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Policy and Security, Kaja Kallas, has expressed her willingness to actively engage in the dialogue process.

The mandate of the special envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, extended several times, will end at the end of January next year.

In the meantime, it is expected that Kaja Kallas, in cooperation with the member countries, will decide on the continuation of the dialogue, including whether there will be a successor to Lajçak in that position and who he will be.

The European Union will today repeat the call for Kosovo and Serbia to "implement without delay and without preconditions the Agreement on the path to the normalization of relations and the annex for its implementation, as well as all other obligations that have emerged from the dialogue process". .

The call will be repeated for Kosovo to start the process of establishing the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority without delay, while for Serbia to start the process for recognizing the documents and symbols of Kosovo.

Kosovo and Serbia will be reminded that progress in the process of normalizing relations will continue to be a condition for their journey in the EU integration process. These calls are expected to be in the conclusions on enlargement that will be approved on Tuesday at the meeting of the EU General Affairs Council./REL
