USA, new aid package of 300 million dollars for Ukraine

The United States will provide a new $300 million military aid package to Ukraine, which is expected to include munitions for the Patriot missile defense system, defense officials told VOA.

The officials, who spoke to VOA on condition of anonymity before the official announcement of the package on Wednesday, said the latest aid also includes rockets for the HIMARS surface-to-air missile systems and more tank ammunition ahead of an expected counteroffensive by troops. Ukrainian.

When announced, the aid package will mark the 39th presidentially authorized withdrawal of military equipment from Defense Department inventories since Russia launched its attack on Ukraine in February 2022, VOA reports.

Since the start of the Russian aggression, the United States has promised Ukraine security assistance in the amount of 37 billion dollars.
