China supports Serbia: Pristina's unilateral actions

The government of China has reacted to the tensions in the North of Kosovo, where it openly supports the actions of Serbia.

The spokeswoman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, expressed that they oppose the unilateral actions of Pristina, referring to the recent developments in the north of Kosovo.

"China supports Serbia's efforts to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity and opposes the unilateral actions taken by the provisional institutions of self-government in Prishtina," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.

At the media conference, when asked about the latest developments in the north of Kosovo, she emphasized that China is appealing for the implementation of the obligation to form the Union of Serbian Municipalities, reports Chinese International Radio.  

Mao Ning added that China pays great attention to the situation in Kosovo.

"We advise NATO to sincerely respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the respective countries and really do things that benefit regional peace," Mao Ning emphasized.
