Former Israeli ambassador: Peace with Hamas, impossible

The Lefortovo District Court in Moscow has extended the detention of "The Wall Street Journal" journalist Evan Gershkovich. The measure of detention of the American journalist was extended for two months, namely until January 30.
Gershikovich was arrested at the end of March in the city of Yekaterinburg. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said at the time that the journalist had been arrested on espionage charges.
Russian authorities accuse Gershkovich of collecting what they say were state secrets related to the military industry.
Gershnkovich, an American citizen based in Moscow, had gone to Yekaterinburg to report on Russia's stance on the Kremlin's war against Ukraine, which began in February last year, and on the Russian mercenary group, Wagner.
If convicted of the espionage charges, Gershkovich faces up to 20 years in prison.
The American medium "Wall Street Journal" has rejected the accusations leveled against Gershkovich. Meanwhile, the White House has called the accusations "ridiculous" and the American president, Joe Biden, has previously said that Gershkovich's detention is "totally illegal"./REL
