The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina filed an indictment on Monday against the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi and three deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, related to the physical fight on July 13 in a plenary session in the hall of the Assembly of Kosovo.

What are they accused of?

Bislimi and MPs Mergim Lushtaku and Hajdar Beqa are suspected of committing the criminal offense of "assault", while Beqa is also accused of "destruction or damage to property".

Separately, for this criminal case, the Prosecutor's Office has said that there is a well-founded suspicion that the other deputy, Bekim Haxhiu, has committed the criminal offense of "slight bodily injury".

Why was there a fight?

On July 13, in the hall of the Assembly, clashes took place between the members of the Government of Kosovo and the deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

The fight was preceded by a week of harsh accusations about an audio recording, in which Mimoza Kusari-Lila, head of the parliamentary group of the ruling party, Lévizjes Vetëvendosje (LVV), was heard asserting that she had communicated with the former vice president. of the Serbian List, Millan Radoicic, last year.

The opposition parties reacted strongly to the Government after the publication of the audio recording.

However, this incident was neither the first nor the last such incident in the Assembly of Kosovo.

At the end of September, Radoicic took responsibility for the attacks on the Kosovo Police in Banjské i Zveçani.

As a result of the attacks, Sergeant Afrim Bunajku was killed.

Three attackers were later killed in the exchange of fire.

Kosovo has called several times for Radoicic to be extradited from Serbia./ REL
