Netanyahu softens stance on attacks on Iranian gas fields after Trump's

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would "contain" future attacks on Iranian gas fields, following a direct request from former US President Donald Trump.

During a press conference held last evening, Netanyahu also rejected accusations that he had dragged Trump into the conflict with Iran, stressing that Israel's decisions are independent.

Meanwhile, the situation in the region remains tense. Explosions have been reported in Jerusalem and Tehran, while Iran's foreign minister warned that the country will respond with "zero restraint" in the event of new attacks on its infrastructure.

In other developments, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain reported missile and drone attacks in recent hours, which some of them attributed to Iran.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the death toll in Iran has reached 3,186 since the start of the conflict on February 28.

The impact of the escalation has also been felt in international markets, with gas prices rising sharply in Europe and the UK following the attack on the Ras Laffan energy complex in Qatar. Qatar's prime minister called the development a "very dangerous escalation."/ CNA
