Osmani says he had a "substantive" conversation with Secretary Rubio

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said she had a "substantive" conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during her stay in the United States.

Osmani has held several meetings with officials from various countries, including officials from the US State Department, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

" With Secretary Rubio, a substantive conversation last night within the framework of the reception organized by President [American, Donald] Trump ," Osmani wrote on Facebook, without providing other details about this meeting.

Osman's meeting with Rubio comes after relations between Kosovo and the United States suffered a blow earlier in September. Washington announced on September 12 the suspension of the planned Strategic Dialogue due to actions by the acting Kosovo government, which it said had increased tensions and instability in the country.

Osmani had expressed deep regret and concern regarding the US decision to suspend the planned Strategic Dialogue.

Kosovo and the US were expected to finalize the strategic dialogue agreement this year, after President Osmani announced in January that the two countries had reached an agreement./ REL
