One killed, two injured in shooting at US migrant center

One person has been killed and two others injured in a shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration detention center in Dallas, officials said.

The suspected gunman who opened fire on the ICE building from an adjacent building has died, Dallas Police said in a post on X.

Interior Secretary Kristi Noem said the shooter died after shooting himself.

"While we still don't know the motives, we do know that ICE officers are facing unprecedented violence against them. This violence must stop."

Local television station Fox4 said the three people who were shot were ICE detainees.

This television reported that the attacker was on the top of a building when he shot himself after seeing law enforcement officers approaching him.

ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan told Fox News that no ICE officials were injured during the attack.

"We've seen a lot of violence at ICE buildings, and this is not the first time there have been attacks on agency buildings ," Sheahan said.

"These attacks on law enforcement, especially ICE, must stop," said US Vice President JD Vance, via a post on X.
