A war-weary world closely watches rivals/ Trump and Xi prepare for showdown in

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to hold a crucial meeting in Beijing this week, at a time when relations between the two world superpowers remain tense over trade, technology, Taiwan and conflict in the Middle East.

Trump's visit is the first by a US president to China since his 2017 trip and is seen as an opportunity to reshape economic relations between the two countries.
