Disruption of public transport in Pristina/ Acting Minister of Finance reacts

The acting Minister of Finance in Kosovo, Hekuran Murati, has reacted to the interruption of public transport in Pristina. Through a post on social networks, Murati stated that the Treasury had allocated the December budget for the Municipality of Pristina ahead of time in order to pay some bills for essential services.

But according to him, the staff of the Municipality of Pristina had completed their work schedule and had not made any payments. He says that this is a ploy by Mayor Përparim Rama and the deputy mayors to blame the government.

Full reaction:

On Friday afternoon, the Treasury allocated the December budget for the Municipality of Pristina ahead of schedule, with the idea of ??paying some bills for essential services, such as electricity. However, at the end of the day, the Treasury informed me that despite the allocation, the staff of the Municipality of Pristina had finished their work schedule and had not made any payments, with the excuse that “we will do them on Monday.”

At first I was surprised, because this behavior of theirs did not match the urgency they had shown when they had requested early allocation. Instead of paying the bills during working hours, Përparim Rama and his deputy leaders had decided to carry out anti-government propaganda during the weekend, complaining about the alleged blockade.

Because if they paid the bills on Friday, they would not be able to continue their propaganda on Saturday and Sunday. This also explains why Lumir Abdixhiku and other LDK MPs did not vote on the budget for Pristina in the Assembly. Because in the absence of real causes, they decided not to spare even the citizens of Pristina, in the hope that someone would accidentally believe that the Government was to blame. / CNA
