The miners of the Trepça metallurgical plant have stopped their strike after 10 days.
The miner Gani Osmani, who was temporarily suspended from work during the strike, said that the agreement was reached shortly after midnight, with several deputies of the ruling party, Vetëvendosje Movement.
The miners went on strike on October 24 in search of better working conditions. Miners' salaries in Trepça range from 700 to 900 euros, depending on experience and professional training.
Miners do not have health or life insurance and have constantly asked to have the same.
The Trepça metallurgical complex is a joint-stock company: 80 percent of the shares belong to the Government of Kosovo, 20 percent belong to the employees of this company.
Until the 90s, when the political situation worsened, it was considered one of the largest enterprises not only in Kosovo, but also in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
Trepça is expected to pass under the ownership of the Sovereign Fund, which according to the Government of Kosovo, will have the exclusive responsibility to invest in increasing their value./ REL
