The Ohrid Agreement is also on the agenda at the EU summit

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia will be on the agenda at the meeting of the European Council, which will take place on Thursday and Friday in Brussels.

Likewise, the agreement reached between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vu?i?, on March 18 in Ohrid, for the implementation of the Agreement towards the normalization of relations between the two countries, will be part of the conclusions of this meeting of the leaders of EU.

Marrëveshja me 11 nene, e bërë publike më 27 shkurt, nuk e obligon Serbinë që ta njohë Kosovën, por kërkon nga të dyja vendet që t’i pranojnë dokumentet dhe simbolet e njëra-tjetrës, përfshirë: pasaportat, diplomat dhe targat.

Ajo kërkon, po ashtu, nga palët që t’i zbatojnë të gjitha marrëveshjet e arritura deri më tash në dialogun për normalizimin e marrëdhënieve, përfshirë edhe atë për formimin e Asociacionit të komunave me shumicë serbe në Kosovë, të cilin Qeveria në Prishtinë e ka refuzuar deri më tash, me arsyetimin se mund të rrezikojë funksionalitetin e shtetit.

Radio Evropa e Lirë ka pasur qasje në draftin e konkluzave nga samiti i BE-së dhe në të gjendet edhe paragrafi në të cilin përshëndetet arritja e marrëveshjes në Ohër.

“Këshilli Evropian mirëpret marrëveshjen e arritur në dialogun e lehtësuar nga Bashkimi Evropian për aneksin e implementimit të Marrëveshjes drejt normalizimit të raporteve mes Kosovës dhe Serbisë, dhe u bën ftesë të dyja palëve që në mënyrë të përshtatshme dhe në mirëbesim, të implementojnë obligimet e tyre përkatëse”, përmendet në draft të raportit.

Krerëve të shteteve anëtare të BE-së, do t’iu raportojë në këtë temë edhe kryediplomati i bllokut evropian, Josep Borell.

Ai ka raportuar për këtë çështje edhe të hënën para ministrave të Jashtëm të vendeve anëtare.

Arritjen e pajtueshmërisë në Ohër, Borell e ka quajtur “status quo të re”, në dialogun mes Kosovës dhe Serbisë, e cila do të mundësojë kalimin nga një fazë e krizave në fazën e zbatimit të marrëveshjes.

At the last summit of the European Union, held in February, EU leaders supported the EU's proposal for the normalization of relations and called on Kosovo and Serbia to accept it.

By including this issue in the European Council, the EU wants to send a message that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is high on its agenda.

With the mediation of the EU and the support of the USA, Kosovo and Serbia have been in negotiations for the normalization of relations since 2011.

They have reached dozens of agreements, but most of them have not been implemented and the parties have blamed each other for the stalemate. /REL
