Kurti: Radoicic gave the order for the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal,
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said on Tuesday that Millan Radoicic gave the order to carry out the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci channel on November 29, while the state of Serbia is responsible for the financing, planning and logistics of the attack.

In a press conference, Kurti said that he bases these statements on the data of the intelligence and security authorities.

According to him, the support offered by official Belgrade to what it has called the terrorist group of Millan Radoicic, cannot be called anything else, but the coordination of the Serbian state with this group to intensify the hybrid war against Kosovo.

"The November 29 attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal is a continuation of terrorist acts and attacks, and other destabilizing activities carried out by Serbia's influence mechanisms in Kosovo, including Serbian terrorist organizations. Taking into account that such terrorist acts require professional preparation in diversion, and the fact that Milan Radoicic is also supported by the state structures of Serbia, it is estimated that the explosion in the Ibër-Lepenc channel was also supported with planning and logistics by the state of Serbia".

According to him, the attack was impossible to be carried out by Radocic's group, without the support of the Serbian state.

"These methods of challenging security in Kosovo, which as a result, not only violate and damage vital infrastructure, cause inter-ethnic incidents, which Serbia strongly encourages, then cause panic among citizens, and at the very end and the creation of an image of an unstable country, are expected to happen in the near future, and separately before and after the New Year", said Kurti, pledging that the authorities are committed to, as he has said, neutralization of this remaining Serbian method.

Kurti has presented a chronology of 15 attacks, which according to him, were intended to harm Kosovo "in a terrorist manner" from June 30 to November 29 of this year, and which culminated with the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal .

The Ibër-Lepenci canal was attacked on November 29 in the village of Varragë in the municipality of Zubin Potok - a municipality with a Serbian majority in the north of the country.

The Kosovo Police said that the attack was carried out with explosives weighing up to 20 kilograms.

The Ibër-Lepenc Canal supplies water from Lake Ujman to the entire north of Kosovo, the regions of Mitrovica, Pristina and its surroundings, as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling its thermal power plants.

Kurti said that Radoicic - who is currently believed to be free in Serbia - has authorized people to carry out attacks in Kosovo several times during the year.

Milan Radoicic is wanted by the Kosovo authorities, after admitting to organizing and carrying out the attack in Banjské i Zveçan in September 2023.

As a result of this attack, which Kosovo considers terrorist and blames Serbia, the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed.

Serbia, on the other hand, rejects these accusations. Among other things, Kurti said that Belgrade's refusal to hand over Radoiçiqi was an encouragement for Radoiçiqi's group to continue with other acts "against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Kosovo"./ Rel
