The Greek MEP, Eva Kaili, detained by the Belgian authorities, is in the process of interrogation since yesterday, related to the case of corruption of the European Parliament from Qatar.

Despite the protection given to her by parliamentary immunity, the MEP has been facing the police since yesterday, while her husband, Francesco Giorgi, was arrested yesterday morning. 

The investigations are proceeding dynamically, as the Belgian MEPs of the social democrats, Marc Tarabella and Marie Arena, are also being investigated for the same case.

Eva Kaili, 44, a former Greek TV presenter and MEP since 2014, was also targeted by investigators. Her house was searched late on Friday afternoon and she was sent to the prosecutor's office", the article reads.

In addition to the four arrests, the police seized "approximately 600,000 euros in cash, as well as "computer and mobile devices", the contents of which will be examined.

It says that the charge against Mrs. Kaili was preceded by a search of the apartment of the PASOK MEP - something that is not true, since her immunity is in force. 

According to sources in Brussels, late last night, the Belgian police allegedly found 100,000 euros in a house belonging to Francesco Giorgi. The investigations were carried out there and at Pantzer's house, where nearly 500,000 euros in cash were seized. /CNA.al
