Father of Kosovo MP candidate threatened/ "Vote for the Serbian List or

Police in Mitrovica have arrested a person suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of the free determination of voters".

Blut reports that the arrest occurred after a denunciation by a resident of Mitrovica, the father of a candidate for MP.

The latter stated at the police station that a week ago he was asked to vote in Sunday's elections for the Serbian List, while he was threatened that if he did not do so, his daughter would be removed from her job and from the list of MPs of another party.

He also claimed that 29-year-old GJ asked the residents of his community to vote for the Serbian List, otherwise he would cut off his social assistance.

On 08.02.2025, the complainant M/A/K, a resident of Mitrovica South, appeared at the South Police Station in Mitrovica. He stated that a week ago, the suspect M/R/K had invited him to a meeting at a bar, who had told the complainant to vote for the political entity "Serbian List", otherwise he would fire the complainant's daughter, who was working in the public cleaning company of the municipality in North Mitrovica, and was also a candidate for deputy of a subject of this community for the parliamentary elections.

Also according to the complainant's statement, the suspect had pressured all of the complainant's compatriots of Ashkali nationality from Mitrovica South to vote for the political entity "Serbian List", otherwise he would stop their social assistance and remove his daughter from the list for MPs through the connections he had with the political entity in question.

The prosecutor in charge was contacted and, by his order, the suspect was arrested and a search was conducted at his residence, during which evidence related to the case was seized.

The suspect GJ, 29 years old, M/R/K, was interviewed and after the interview procedure, by order of the prosecutor, he was ordered to be detained for 48 hours, while a case was initiated against him for the criminal offense "Violation of the free determination of voters" under Article 210 of the Criminal Code./ CNA
