Not only from the air/ Israel carries out a tank attack in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which have so far carried out airstrikes in response to Hamas, carried out a tank attack overnight.

The IDF said the raid was carried out as part of "preparation for the next stages of combat".

According to the Israeli forces, last night's attacks "hit numerous terrorist cells, infrastructure and anti-tank missile launch points".

After the attacks, the soldiers retreated and returned to Israeli territory.

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address that IDF forces are still preparing for a ground invasion, but gave no indication of when.

Israel asked the 1.1 million residents of Gaza City and other northern areas to leave for their safety last week.

But a senior UN official told the BBC that some Palestinians who fled their homes in northern Gaza have started to return, as conditions in the south worsen./ CNA
