Iran plans $1 million tax on ships in Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian regime is reportedly considering imposing a fee of up to $1 million per ship for transiting the Strait of Hormuz, foreign media reported. The move comes as the critical shipping lane is set to reopen in two weeks as part of ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran.

The proceeds are expected to go towards rebuilding critical infrastructure destroyed during the recent conflict, which lasted more than a month.

According to the same sources, Oman is also planning to impose a tax on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
