February of this year has brought a significant increase in activity in the hospitality sector in Kosovo, reflecting a positive trend in visits and stays compared to the same period of the previous year.
Data shows that interest in staying in hotels has increased from both domestic and international visitors.
In total, 56,644 visitors were registered in hotels, of which 24,416 were local, while 32,228 visitors were foreign. Compared to February 2025, when the total number of visitors was 51,795, this represents an increase of 9.4%, demonstrating a revival of the tourism and hospitality sector in the country.
The growth is not only reflected in the number of visitors, but also in the length of their stay.
The total number of overnight stays reached 112,367, with 60,513 nights (53.8%) belonging to foreign visitors, while 51,854 nights (46.1%) belonged to domestic visitors. This shows that foreign visitors are not only coming more, but also staying longer in Kosovo.
Regarding foreign visitors, the data shows a significant increase of 16.1% compared to February 2025. In particular, several countries dominate the list of tourist origins.
Visitors from Albania continue to make up the largest number, with 10,820 visitors in February 2026, although this represents a decrease of 10.2% compared to the previous year. Similarly, overnight stays from this country have also decreased by 23.4%, falling to 15,026.
On the other hand, a strong increase is observed in visitors from Germany, who reached 3,175 visitors, or 26.5% more than in 2025. Night stays from this country have also increased significantly, marking 6,851 nights, which translates into an increase of 43.0%.
Switzerland also recorded positive growth, with 2,300 visitors (+7.3%) and 4,342 overnight stays (+26.9%), demonstrating sustained interest from the diaspora and tourists from this country.
Meanwhile, Turkey has recorded a decline, with 2,637 visitors (-21.4%) and 4,177 overnight stays (-5.7%), indicating a slight weakening of the flow from this market.
A significant increase is also observed in the group of other countries, where the number of visitors has reached 13,296 (+15.6%), while overnight stays have increased to 30,117 (+27.9%).
Overall, these data show that the hospitality sector in Kosovo is continuing to recover and expand, with a steady increase in interest from foreign visitors. /Monitor
