Incident over the Black Sea/ Russia accuses Britain of violating airspace,

Russia has released footage showing its warplanes approaching three British jets.

Russia's Ministry of Defense raised allegations that the planes had approached Russian airspace.

"Several Su-27 fighter jets from the air defense forces took off in flight to identify air targets and prevent violation of the state border of the Russian Federation.

"Russian fighter crews identified the aerial targets as an RC-135 radio reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two British Air Force Typhoon fighter jets," Russia said.

But this claim was rejected by the UK Ministry of Defence.

"This claim is completely false. At no time did the RAF aircraft attempt to enter Russian sovereign airspace," the statement said, among other things.

The incident comes a month after a Russian fighter jet shot down two missiles at a UK airliner over the Black Sea.

This is the latest "clash" over the Black Sea, where numerous "clashes" have been recorded between Russian and NATO aircraft since Vladimir Putin launched his illegal war in Ukraine./ CNA
