Germany has approved the export of Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine from its industrial stockpile, a government spokesman confirmed at a press conference in Berlin on Friday.

"I can confirm that the export permit has been issued," said the spokesman. He declined to comment on how many tanks will be exported.

As Reuters writes, the German newspaper SZ earlier reported that the companies Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft are ready to relocate dozens of tanks "Leopard 1" in order to deliver them to Ukraine to fight the Russian invasion.
