Greek farmers intensify protest/ Roadblocks continue, reject dialogue with

The situation at the checkpoints with farmers and the Greek government is intensifying every day.

This situation has resulted in a constant demand for dialogue, but also in the possibility that exits from traffic lanes left open by protesters could cause accidents or collisions between passing drivers.

On Saturday, the Minister of Rural Development, in an effort to ensure the smooth development of vehicle traffic during the holidays, asked farmers for dialogue, claiming that out of their 27 requests, a large part of which have been fulfilled, they have received a red card in 7 requests, which are in violation of EU law and the EU.

As reported by Greek media, sources from the Ministry of Rural Development said that if farmers want to discuss, the Ministry's door will be open even during the holidays, but the farmers show no signs of willingness for dialogue, remaining on a hard line.

Over the weekend, they distributed oil, lentils and other products on the streets, while by decision of the coordinating committee, today, Monday, they will close the Tempi tunnel to trucks./CNA
