Europeans will soon be able to travel to the United States without having to worry about presenting proof of vaccination against COVID-19 upon arrival after the country decided to lift such a measure.

Announcing the news, the White House said Monday that the requirement to present proof of vaccination will be officially lifted on May 11. It also noted that the requirement will be removed for all international travelers, not just Europeans, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

"We are now at another stage of our response when these measures are no longer necessary," the White House said.

This change will now allow all European citizens who were worried about the vaccination requirements to start planning their next vacation to the US.

In addition to not being required to present proof of vaccination at airports, Europeans will no longer be required to provide such proof when entering the US via land port of entry and ferries.

"Reuters" explains that the authorities' decision to remove the vaccination requirement for all international travelers follows the significant improvement in the COVID situation.

According to figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of cases of infection fell throughout the month of March. This means that Europeans who haven't completed their vaccinations don't have to worry as much about getting the virus as before. Even if they do, the virus is not causing serious health consequences as before and is passing easily./ CNA.al
