The United States of America and three EU member states have temporarily blocked Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.

These claims were raised by the media " Euronews Serbia ", which cites diplomatic sources in Europe.

According to her, Washington has requested that Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe not be put on the agenda of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe until "Kosovo maintains a more constructive position for the Association, which would pave the way for the proposal of the basic agreement between Belgrade and Pristina".

“Euronews Serbia” shkruan se këtij qëndrimi të SHBA i janë bashkuar Italia, Franca dhe Gjermania.

Duke cituar një zëdhënës të ambasadës amerikane, në artikull thuhet se qëndrimi i SHBA-së është bërë i njohur.
