The UN team leaves for the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

A UN nuclear safety agency mission has left for the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the team was expected to arrive at the power plant this week, "BBC" writes.

"We must protect the security of Ukraine and Europe's largest nuclear facility," he wrote on Twitter.

The nuclear plant has been occupied by Russian troops since March.
Fighting around the facility in southeastern Ukraine has led to increased global security concerns.
Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of bombing the area.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, warned that the European continent is in danger, because Russian forces have turned the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant into a military base.

Through a reaction on social networks, he demanded that the Russian army leave the factory./euronews
