Russian drone hits palace in Romania / Two people injured

A Russian drone has entered Romanian airspace and crashed into the roof of an apartment block in the southeastern city of Galati, near the border with Ukraine.

"During the night of May 28-29, the Russian Federation resumed drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania. One of these drones entered Romanian airspace, was tracked by radar to the southern part of the city of Galati and crashed on the roof of a building, with the impact causing a fire ," the Romanian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations announced that a drone hit a 10th-floor apartment, causing a fire and lightly injuring two people.

He added that the entire payload of the drone exploded, causing the evacuation of about 70 people. Russia has repeatedly attacked the Ukrainian port of Reni on the Danube, near Galati. Debris from Russian drones has been found several times in the Romanian border area.

Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the origin of the drone and how it ended up in the area. According to the report, the drone had a wingspan of about 3 meters. /CNA
