"It is not a historical triumph, failure or failure, but a transitory compromise" , with these words the president of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendaroski, expressed himself regarding the French draft. Also, the president added that his government should also approve a conclusion or complaint in the modified proposal that it will reject the talks if during this process the Bulgarian side insists on negotiating the Macedonian language and identity.

" We should not wait for someone to block us, but we should immediately withdraw from the talks ", President Pendarovski declared.

But what is the French draft?

The French draft is the French government's proposal for choosing the dispute between Skopje and Sofia. In this proposal, the remarks of the Macedonian side have been taken into account, where it is worth noting that the Macedonian language is clearly and unconditionally accepted.

Through the French proposal, it is also intended to overcome the differences that North Macedonia has with Bulgaria and to unlock the beginning of negotiations for membership in the European family.

This draft has been accepted by the Bulgarian government, but the same cannot be said for the Skopje government, when this draft has become a bone of contention between the opposition and the government./ CNA.al
