Several civilians killed by Russian attacks in Ukraine

At least three civilians were killed by Russian shelling in four regions of Ukraine on Friday, military and regional officials said. Meanwhile, a drone strike set fire to an oil depot in Russia's Voronezh region.

Two residents were killed and two others wounded by Russian shelling in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region, the regional governor, Vadym Filashkin, said on Telegram.

In the southern Kherson region, one person was killed and four others were wounded during Russian shelling of 14 settlements in the past 24 hours, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said.

"The Russian military attacked civilian infrastructure, as well as residential buildings and communication networks. 35 houses were destroyed," Prokudin said on Telegram, adding that agricultural facilities, warehouses, buses, agricultural machinery and vehicles were damaged.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia attacked Ukraine with 19 drones, nine of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses over four regions, Kiev, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad and Kherson.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone strike set fire to an oil depot in Russia's southwestern Voronezh region on Friday morning, regional governor Aleksandr Gusev said on Telegram.

Gusev said the fire was caused by shrapnel from a drone that fell on the warehouse after it was shot down by Russian anti-aircraft missiles.

"An empty tanker caught fire. According to initial data, there are no casualties. Firefighters are working at the scene," he wrote.

Russian Telegram channels published videos showing a fire at the crash site of the drone. The Astra Telegram channel, citing residents, said the Annanefleprodukt oil depot was hit.

The Ukrainian military confirmed the attack in a statement.

"An attack was carried out on the Annanefleprodukt oil depot near the settlement of Anna in the Voronezh region," the military said, adding that Russian anti-aircraft guns opened fire on the attacking drones.

At least one of the oil tanks was hit and caught fire, the army said./ Rel
