The head of foreign policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, has reacted after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic.

Borrel revealed that Kurti has not accepted the EU's proposal for the implementation of the Agreement for the normalization of relations with Serbia.

According to him, the Prime Minister of Kosovo requested that the de facto recognition of Kosovo by Serbia be formalized.

"Today, with Prime Minister Kurti and President Vucic, I tried to find a solution for a way forward, based on our proposal. Unfortunately, after a long meeting, Prime Minister Kurti was not ready to move forward with the start of a process reliable for the establishment of the Association [of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo]. Instead, he has insisted that de facto recognition be formalized as a first step," said the head of the EU's foreign policy.
