EU with new sanctions against Russian technology

The European Commission has proposed new sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, which would affect goods worth 11 billion euros and target drone manufacturers in Iran.

EC chief Ursula von der Leyen said she hoped all 27 European Union states would agree to the new package, which is part of joint sanctions with the G7 group, on the first anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Ajo tha se Brukseli tha se dëshiron të shtojë edhe 17 komponentë elektronikë në listën e sanksioneve “që mund të përdoren në sistemet e arëve ruse, përfshirë dronët, raketat dhe helikopterët”.

Paketa e re e sanksioneve po ashtu shënjestronë prodhuesit e dronëve në Iran që kanë furnizuan Rusinë me dronë për të sulmuar infrastrukturën e Ukrainës.

“Garda Revolucionare e Iranit i ka ofruar Rusisë dronë Shahed”, tha von der Leyen.

"Therefore, we are now adding seven Iranian entities to the sanctions list. They will now have a complete stop regarding the sale of sensitive equipment in Russia", she emphasized.

The EU has already imposed nine packages of sanctions against Moscow since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February last year.

The sanctions have hit key Russian exports, such as oil, and were intended to hit Russian President Vladimir Putin's war income./ REL
