The Swiss Foreign Ministry announced the cancellation of talks scheduled for today between the United States and Iran in Burgenstock.
"The planned talks between the United States, Iran, Qatar and Pakistan have been postponed. Switzerland remains ready to facilitate these talks. The relevant preparatory work is ongoing," the statement said.
The announcement comes after news that US Vice President JD Vance will not make the trip he had planned for today to Switzerland to meet with Iranian negotiators to begin talks on implementing the agreement reached between Tehran and Washington to end the war.
The cancellation of today's talks intensifies uncertainty about the next phase of negotiations, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington aimed at ending the war and opening the Strait of Hormuz./CNA
