Two suicide bombers attacked the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary force on Monday, killing three security officials and wounding at least 12 people.
According to reports, the perpetrators were armed when they attacked the Federal Police headquarters in Peshawar, in northwestern Pakistan.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The police compound is located in a highly secure area of ??Peshawar and the attackers are believed to have bypassed multiple levels of security to gain entry. The area has been cordoned off and rescue teams are currently at the scene.
Peshawar is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which is located along the border with Afghanistan and has long been a hotbed of militant violence.
The Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, are active in the province and have claimed responsibility for similar attacks across the country. /CNA
