"The pension scheme is being reconstructed", Malaj: As soon as

Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, delivered his speech at the closing conference of the IMF mission in Albania, where he also spoke about the bonus for pensioners. Malaj said that the Albanian government is reconstructing the scheme for increasing pensions.

He added that while the evaluations of this scheme are being made, it is intended to act on the basis of the beneficiaries. The Minister explained that the bonus will be in proportion to the contributions that the pensioners have had.

"As we stated last year, the Albanian government is reconstructing this scheme, to guarantee higher pensions for Albanian pensioners. While evaluating the scheme, we have thought of acting on the basis of bonuses, which will be accompanied by structural changes to pensions. It is thought that the additional income to be given to pensioners will be in line with the contributions they have had. Those who have had lower contributions will receive less than those who have higher contributions, " he said. /CNA
