A letter for the letter of 144 artists to "save" Elia Zaharian!

A letter for the letter of 144 artists to "save" Elia Zaharian!

A few days after a massive public debate, comments and analysis, even in television studios, on the fate of the "royal" couple, a public letter signed by 144 people from the art world aims to put an end to this hysteria, also asking the AMA to order the media to delete the video of the fight in the "royal palace".

Without much explanation, I support this appeal!

But I want to clarify something, not to get on the side of hysteria, anyway. Elia Zaharia and Leka Zogu are public figures, until yesterday called publicly as Pinci and Princesha. When the couple got married, the media published videos and photos, for days it "reported news" about the chefs who would cook, the silver plates, the long tail of the dress, the hairdressers who would decorate the bride, the important guests who would arrive from the noble families of Europe and beyond, etc. etc.

At that time, the royal family obviously did not contest this news, and even paid a PR company to manage the fame. I personally, at that time, wrote against this false and ridiculous pomposity, since it does not correspond anywhere with reality, since we do not have a royal family. Today, when a marriage and a family, unfortunately, broke, the media is again so attentive to feed, now not with the joy, but with the drama of this family. So we can say that this is the cost of being famous.

But again I do not agree! Let's go to the artists' paper. I say it again, I support this appeal.

But, dear artists, I want to remind you that Elia is not the first victim of this greed. Social networks, online media and traditional media, are hungry for an audience and in this thirst they are relentless. They feed on death, drama, trauma, joy, weddings, funerals...

Elia was (is) a public person, but women and girls who did not care about the public have passed through the inexorable machinery of the media and social networks. Unfortunately, today's society has turned into a mob that thirsts for bone-throwing human dramas. She feeds on them, gets excited, has fun, laughs, fills the belly of the cultural and artistic void. It doesn't matter, famous or not, the crowd is entertained by videos of women killing themselves, men beating themselves up in pubs, mentally ill people talking to themselves in the streets...

Remember the letter of a poor woman, written in a state of trauma, before she killed herself? Not many weeks left. It was broken into parts, like soap operas that are interrupted at the climax. The poor woman told about her husband's betrayals that led her to commit suicide and left bequests for her son. The media and the public behaved like a flock of ravens hungry for carrion. No mercy, no ethics! Where were you?

Today you seek to save Elia, you write to the AMA, and you do very well.

A few days ago, a bunch of academics and professors wrote a public letter like you, and they, like you, asked the AMA not to allow science "charlatans" to speak on television.

But neither they nor you get to the heart of the drama. You seek to save yourself, but meanwhile the whole society is sick.

The public demands violence, the media gives it violence.

The public demands murder, the media gives it murder.

The public wants political trouble, the media gives it political trouble.

The public wants sex and saddles, the media gives them sex and saddles.

The public wants family dramas, and the media gives them dramas.

See which are the most read news across portals. The pallavras are!

While reading your letter today, I also read the story of a woman in Puka, who alone supported a family of 6 people, most of them with serious health problems. I didn't see any major public concern. But neither yours nor the academics', of course.

Well, it's up to us, you, academics, professors, intellectuals, to raise our voices, not when the fire comes to our butt, but for the great moral and social crisis of the whole society, and with it the media. Problems are not solved by deleting videos and closing the screen, but by direct contribution, to turn an entire society from the path of collapse./ CNA
