Abuse and scandals with Check Ups have often been part of the media's denunciation since the beginning of this scheme. Abuses that extended to women with prostates or pointless tests.

CNA has recently investigated and uncovered the abusive scheme and fraud perpetrated on the state by a connected chain of neighborhood doctors with Check Up laboratories.

After some information received in the newsroom, CNA verified the data from several citizens who claimed that the family doctors were connected to the laboratories and function as their employees.

Cases start in Elbasan, Tirana, Korçë, Fier, etc.

Some think that the basic medical check-up service is good, some think it is bad, in some cases there have been problems with the tests and others have raised accusations, but we are not dealing with the fact of whether the Check Up is necessary or not.

We are denouncing an abusive scheme that is being carried out with Check Ups, where the connections of family doctors with the company that performs this service come to light.

A bit of history

Initially, when the concession for Check Ups was approved, this service was offered to 40-75 year olds.

The government trumpeted the Check Ups as a success and then announced the lowering of the age group that would benefit from the free basic check-up, the group was lowered to the ages of 35-70 years. While people over 70 started having problems with their tests, as they could no longer be registered in the system.

Fraud scheme

The problem that has created a scam is that people over 70 can't do Check Up by putting their details into the electronic register, so parties have found ways to cheat, from family doctors to the delivery company. of service.

Family doctors have established connections with the Check Up company. People over 70 years old who come to the family doctor to receive this service, perform the Check Up with the data of other people.

Family doctors do not give recommendations in their names, but in the names of other persons, of younger ages, and the database is fictitious.

CNA has verified at least 7-8 cases, which are in Korça, Elbasan and Tirana.
