Fredi Beleri, the winning candidate of the Himara elections, was visited in prison by Theoharis Lalakos, Secretary General of the Greek Foreign Ministry.
The senior Greek official, who arrived in Albania yesterday, met Beleri in Vlora prison for about 15 minutes.
As he was warned, Lalakos met the elected mayor of Himara together with Pandeli Kokaveshti in the cell.
Official Athens has taken a rather harsh stance regarding Beler's arrest, saying that not releasing him and not respecting the rights of the Greek minority will greatly affect the bilateral relationship between Albania and Greece./ CNA.al
