The fire in the Elbasan landfill/ Berisha exposes Rama's lie

The head of the DP, Sali Berisha, today published a video, a statement by Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the Elbasan incinerator.

In the published video, the prime minister says that there is no affair and calls the oil boiler in Elbasan, which is out of order, a revolution, as it requires millions of euros a year to be put into operation.

"There is no affair. This is revolution. It is part of the revolution to clean Albania. Today, Elbasan is breathing. This is my job because the battle here is garbage or clean air?", stated Prime Minister Rama.

This statement was published during the investigation commission for the incinerators, where they were advertised as success stories and not as corrupt affairs that devoured millions of euros from poor Albanian taxpayers.

Berisha exposed Rama as a lie, since only a day before the landfill of Elbasan was engulfed in flames, the waste that was supposed to be treated in the incinerator was burned.

"The burner of Elbasan worked only two weeks! They bought it in old age", writes Berisha next to the video.


24 million euros have been given by the Albanian government for the construction of an incinerator in Elbasan.

This incinerator is nothing more than a diesel boiler, which sometimes works and sometimes goes into repair.

For this scandal, the GJKKO Appeal gave the final decision yesterday, sentencing to prison the people behind this affair, Mirel Mërtir, Klodian Zoto, Stela Gugalljan, former minister Lefter Koka, his former secretary, Alqi Blako and other former officials./ CNA
