The Orthodox Church of Albania announced this Thursday that by decision of the Holy Synod, as a sign of solidarity with the difficult situation our country is going through due to the numerous fires, in the Litany of Peace of the Divine Liturgy and holy services, numerous prayers will be offered for the souls of those who lost their lives and those who are in danger.

"For the quick and harmless cessation of the fires, for the souls of those who lost their lives, and for the help of our brothers and sisters who are in danger and suffering because of them, with generosity and solidarity, let us pray to God," the prayer will say.

This prayer will be recited especially in all the holy services of the great feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, on August 15, a very holy and beloved day for Albanian Orthodox believers.

The Church calls on all believers to participate by joining their voices in prayer, so that through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, our country may be preserved and saved from every danger and disaster. /CNA
