Fire near the Gërmenjë Natural Park/ Difficult terrain, intervention

A fire recently spread near the Gërmenja Natural Park.

As reported by the authorities, the situation in this area, which is located close to the Greek border, has been under control and monitoring since the early hours of the morning and throughout today.

It is learned that work is being done to prevent the spread of the fire perimeter within the protected area, by the Kolonjë MZSH team, employees of the regional directorate of the Protected Areas Agency and volunteers from the area, supported by military engineers, who intervened to dismantle the ammunition found in the area.

Work has also been done with a shovel to open forest roads, so that firefighting vehicles can get as close as possible to the affected area, which is located about two hours away in terrain that is not easy to describe.

The local civil emergency headquarters is planning and organizing for the continuation of the intervention tomorrow morning, communicating and coordinating actions with the structures of the Greek side. /CNA
