Korça will open tonight with the 19th edition of the 'Beer Festival', the event that for years has earned the status of the biggest summer event in Albania. For five nights in a row, the southeastern city will be the main destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
According to the deputy mayor, Benila Themeli, this is another success not only for the institution and the organizers, but for the entire city, which these days lives to the rhythm of music, celebration, and tourism.
"The 19th edition of the Beer Festival is the next success, not only for the municipality and the event's implementing agency, but for the city of Korça, which turns into a favorite summer destination in five days. In this year's hot summer, Korça's hotels are booked by many local and foreign visitors, which means that the municipality, with the ideology that launched this event 19 years ago, has succeeded in this consolidated path, which is the development of tourism, based on all the wonderful potential that Korça has", said Themeli.
This edition, the novelty is the participation of eight beer companies from the country and the region, as well as three meat by-product companies, accompanied by dozens of other supporters and partners. For the first time, the festival offers free Wi-Fi for all participants and free admission, making it even more accessible to the general public.
"The novelty of this year is that there is a very large number of participating beers. There are 8 participating companies this year, 3 meat by-product companies and many other event supporters, who have joined the municipality in this event that has taken the form of the largest summer festival in Albania. We will have some surprises, in addition to foreign guest singers and a program with the best names in Albanian music. We will have free WiFi for the first time for all participants in the Beer Festival, we will have ticket-free entry for everyone," said Themeli.
The festive atmosphere is not limited to the square where the main concert is held. The Old Bazaar has been transformed into another lively stage, where concerts are organized every night, while the bars, pubs and clubs of Korça have special programs for all nights of the festival. Visitors who choose to spend these days in Korça will find not only music from famous Albanian and foreign artists, but also a wide range of activities that make the city full of life and energy.
"What makes me happy is that other businesses in the city have events related to the Beer Festival, since the municipality and the organizers have installed a stage in the Old Bazaar, and we will have concerts every night. Even in bars, clubs and places where nightlife takes place in Korça, they have dedicated special programs for the five nights of the Beer Festival. If you come to Korça during these days and weekends, you have something to do, not only for the pleasure that the festival will offer, but also for the activities and atmosphere," said Themeli.
The Korça Beer Festival is not only an entertaining event, but also an important engine for the development of tourism and the local economy. With a rich cultural, gastronomic and musical offer, this 19th edition is expected to break visitor records, once again confirming Korça as the capital of Albanian wine. /CNA
