Analyst Neritan Sejamini has commented on the election of Fredi Beleri as an MEP in Greece.

Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit" with Ylli Rakip, Sejamini expressed that it is a triumph for Beler and for the party "New Democracy".

According to Sejamin, his election has already turned into a case of human rights and minorities.

The analyst emphasized that Beleri is a lever in the hands of the Greek government.

"This is a triumph for Beleri, also for "Nea Demokracia" and the Greek Prime Minister, Mitsotakis. At the end of the day, you will have an MEP today. We assume that he will become a reality, that is, he will receive the mandate, which is officially according to them, according to him, according to the government that brought him. According to the country he now represents, which is Greece, a political prisoner.

And in a way, his choice, the main meaning, has just that. It turns it into a case of human rights, it turns it into a case of minority rights. 

Whether we like it or not, rightly or wrongly, now he has the opportunity for his case to take on European proportions and in some way to become a symbol or mini-symbol of people's effort against violence, against the violation of human rights, against the violation of minority rights.

And this is something that I am convinced that Greece has also used, since he has already become an MP and will be a member of a parliamentary group, in fact the largest parliamentary group in the European Parliament, which is the group of parties popular European group where "Nea Demokracia" is a part. 

The fact that he is a member of another group, that is, practically of another party, makes him no longer an individual, but simply a tool, a lever in the hands of "New Democracy" or the Greek Prime Minister, or of the Greek government.

It is an issue that started politically from the moment he was appointed by the Albanian opposition, which appointed him politically deliberately to create political problems.

It continued politically with the brutal intervention of Prime Minister Edi Rama, attacking him personally during the election campaign and probably influencing justice for him. To entrap him and then investigate and convict him, perhaps rightfully so, since he was entrapped and perhaps committed the crime he is accused of.

So, the second was the Albanian government that used it politically, and the third then is the Greek government that used it politically. After trying to apply pressure, he found a way of fate, circumstances.

The coincidence of time gave her a new way to take revenge, if you will, or to turn this issue from a purely bilateral Albania-Greece issue, now it will make it a European issue, since as I said, the case his will be announced by Greece as a case of a political prisoner, as a result of the violation of the rights of the Greek minority in Albania," said Sejamini./ CNA
