The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has raised the concern in the Security Council regarding cyber attacks, saying that their growth is alarming and pose a threat to international peace and security.

" Rapid technological progress also carries risks and challenges. Concerned about the alarming increase in cyber attacks targeting states and their vital infrastructures.

This year alone, more than forty cyber attacks have affected 19 countries.

The cyber attack in Albania, we have indisputable evidence that it was orchestrated and sponsored by Iran.

The damage was contained, but it was a testament to the brutality of malicious cyber activity.

Such acts constitute a threat to international peace and security and must be treated as such.

Russia's actions have caused communication jams not only in Ukraine, but also in other parts of Europe.

Western Balkan countries have been systematically targeted through information manipulation campaigns.

All this to cause political instability and undermine their Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
