The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has held a meeting with her Canadian counterpart, Melanie Joly.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the deepening of bilateral relations and their further strengthening in areas of common interest.

They also talked about the opportunities to increase Canadian presence and investments in Albania.

An important point that was discussed in the meeting is precisely the agreement on social security between the two countries.

We discussed the deepening of bilateral relations and their further strengthening in areas of mutual interest. The visit of the Canadian MFA, an expression of the will to intensively develop our cooperation.

35 years of diplomatic relations, Albania-Canada relations have seen continuous growth. Canada's role and contribution to the international arena has grown significantly. Minister Joly has contributed first-hand to the intensification of relations between the two countries.

We discussed the possibilities to increase Canadian presence and investments in Albania.

I appreciated the importance of reactivating the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives to support various programs.

The Social Security Agreement between Albania and Canada is part of the discussions.

We expressed our unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty. We noted the need to strengthen our bilateral coordination with like-minded countries and our partners in NATO.

Albania welcomes a greater and more intensive involvement of Canadian businesses in its economy.

We hope to open a new page in our relationship, intensifying relations based on shared values.
