Traveling to Southeast cities on weekends or during holidays has become a real nightmare. You know the time you left, but you never know when you'll arrive at your final destination.

Kilometer-long queues are created by the large caravan of cars, which seem to resemble an exodus as a result of an invasion or natural disaster.

This time, the journey to my hometown, in Bilisht, was like that.

As soon as you exit the Crab Tunnel and approach Elbasan, at the area called "Curative Waters", you get caught in traffic and have to wait for almost two hours until you reach the Turtle Pass, at the Bradashesh roundabout.

Once you've arrived here, you have to resist nerves and fatigue to get around the Lule roundabout in Elbasan and the Cërrik intersection.

Just when you think you've escaped and gained a few kilometers of freedom of movement, the nightmare of the third phase appears. The section from Miraka to Librazhd is a traffic ordeal in itself.

And for what! Because the "2T" company, which is building the segment of Corridor 8 in this area, saves laying 10 asphalt trucks to fill the large holes that have opened in the gravel layer.

Once upon a time, you blamed the 1 traffic light on the Shkumbin River bridge that this company installed to control traffic, because it was building the legs of the new bridge over Shkumbin.

The traffic light has now been removed but replaced with huge potholes filled with puddles of water.

Where the big cars almost break their springs, while the small ones break their tires and tires. The wait is so long that you can even swim in these puddles of water in the middle of the road.

This difficult situation of driving over potholes full of mud and water is compounded by a police checkpoint that imposes fines and revokes licenses for wrongful overtaking and failure to keep in line in kilometer-long traffic.

Yesterday afternoon, I experienced a kilometer-long traffic jam from the "Nogo" Complex, located between Librazhd and Qukës, to the road diversion in Miraka, where the cause of all this traffic was hundreds of potholes and puddles of water created on the damaged road, and the private company is planning to dump 10 asphalt trucks to rehabilitate the road in order to ease traffic.

It doesn't matter whether it's rain, snow or frost. All this is done for 10 asphalt trucks that the guys from the Albanian Road Authority must demand accountability from the private company.

Level the road and pave the asphalt at the turnoff part of the segment, because Korça seems to be further away than Athens.
