Bad weather/ IGJEUM warns of intense rainfall across the country
The Institute of Geosciences, Energy, Water and Environment (IGJEUM) announces that tomorrow, Sunday (January 4), intense rainfall is expected mainly in the Shkodra and Kukës regions, with the possibility of flash floods of small mountain rivers and landslides.

In the urban areas of these regions, there may be localized flooding, depending on the state of the sewerage.

According to IGJEUM, during the period January 3-7, intense rainfall will cause dangerous increases in the flows and levels of the Drin-Buna, Lake Skadar, Mat, Shkumbin and Vjosa rivers.

This afternoon (Saturday, 03) and tomorrow (Sunday, 04) there will be high intensity rainfall mainly in the north and south of the country. In the Shkodra and Kukës regions, there may be flash floods of small mountain rivers and landslides. In urban areas, localized flooding problems may occur in these regions, depending on the state of the sewerage.
According to IGJEO calculations, intense rainfall is expected during the dates (3-7 January 2026), mainly in the north and south of the country. These rainfalls will bring dangerous increases in flows and levels in the Drin-Buna rivers, Lake Shkodra, the Mat, Shkumbin and Vjosa rivers.

Today afternoon (Saturday, 03) and tomorrow (Sunday, 04) intense to locally very intense precipitation is expected in the Shkodër and Kukës regions, while in the Dibër, Lezhë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër regions moderate to locally intense precipitation is expected accompanied by storms.
