Traffic chaos on the national axes of the Southeast, total lack of Traffic

Traffic on the national roads of the southeast has caused nightmares and panic among citizens. The end of the year and the beginning of the new year turned into a nightmare for drivers traveling from Hotolishti to Tirana.

Citizens have faced hours of traffic jams, crowded together with their families who, after the holidays in the southeast, were returning to the capital to continue with their daily lives, turning those few days of rest into chaos.

One of the causes of vehicle traffic congestion, especially on the Librazhd-Elbasan axis, is the reconstruction of parts of the road that is taking place in these segments.

But this could be easily made manageable, with just one truckload of gravel needed to fill the holes.

Another problem is the lack of Traffic Police on the national roads of the southeast. From the verifications carried out by CNA, throughout yesterday from Hotolishti to Tirana there was no traffic police patrol present to manage the chaos created by the traffic.

No announcements about heavy traffic for hours on these roads, no measures made public, the Traffic Police were non-existent.

To avoid all that chaos created by traffic, it would be enough to stop the circulation of trucks during peak vehicle traffic hours to avoid long hours in traffic and difficulties in circulation.

The Traffic Police were irresponsible, leaving citizens and their families to their fate amid traffic jams for hours in low temperatures.

Today, the same situation is expected to be repeated at the Bradashesh roundabout on the Elbasan-Tirana axis due to the large flow of vehicles that have gone to the southeast for the end-of-year holidays.

What happened yesterday was shameful. The Traffic Police were not on the ground a single inch from the Hotolishti to Labinot axis where the traffic was at its peak and it took vehicles 3-4 hours to cover this road segment./ CNA
