The lawyer of the former head of the Prosecutor's Office, Adriatik Llalla, stated that his client had won the right to political asylum in Italy, but according to SPAK, extradition procedures continue in Italy and the decision of the Court of Appeal of Rome was for the revocation of the security measure .

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK, told BIRN that the extradition process of the former Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, is still ongoing in Italy and that there is no rejection of Albania's request for his extradition.

“Autoritetet italiane kanë konfirmuar se procesi gjyqësor me objekt ekstradimin e shtetasit shqiptar Adriatik Llalla është në vazhdim e sipër…,” tha SPAK në përgjigje të një kërkese për të drejtë informimi.

Ish-kreu i Prokurorisë së Përgjithshme, Adriatik Llalla u dënua me dy vjet burg për fshehje pasurie në shtator të vitit 2021, por vendimi nuk u ekzekutua asnjëherë pasi Llalla u largua nga vendi drejt Italisë.
