SPAK sent the file for trial/ Today, the hearing for Erion Veliaj

Erion Veliaj

A preliminary hearing is expected to be held today for the dismissed mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Today, the court will decide whether or not to pass Veliaj's case on to trial.

Previously, the preliminary hearing for Veliaj was postponed due to the lawyers' boycott on October 10, following the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja in the courtroom, and the second time due to the boycott following the lawyer's arrest in Elbasan.

 While on September 29, the preliminary hearing was postponed due to the lack of notification for some of the defendants.

The Special Prosecution Office has closed the investigations and sent the former mayor of Tirana, who is facing 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, for trial./  CNA
