Flood situation in Shkodra/ Movement continues in Obot with army vehicles

The flood situation in Shkodra is improving.

In today's update, it is stated that the water level in the affected areas has receded.

Regarding the situation in the Oboti area, there is a decrease in the water level by 20 cm, compared to the day before.

Movement to the village of Obot is done with army vehicles.

 

Situation report

 

From continuous monitoring during the night and early morning hours, the hydrological situation in the territory of the Municipality of Shkodra appears to have improved, with a significant reduction in the area of ??agricultural land with the presence of water, from around 760 ha yesterday to 590 ha today, as a result of the withdrawal of water levels in the affected areas.

According to measurements taken today at 06:30, water levels are decreasing:

Buna – Bazaar Bridge: 8.40 m

Drini – Bahçalëk: 7.80 m

Buna – Dajç: 6.38 m

In the village of Obot and the Dajç Administrative Unit, a decrease in the water level of about 20 cm has been observed, compared to yesterday. A decrease in the level in the lake has also been observed, positively affecting the normalization of the situation.

On the road to the village of Obot, traffic is currently carried out by army vehicles, guaranteeing movement and access for residents and services.

Bërdica: 10 ha

Velipoja: 90 ha

Dajç: 70 ha

Mountainside: 420 ha

Total: 590 ha

The reduction of the flooded area confirms the positive trend and the gradual stabilization of the situation.

The responsible vehicles and structures continue to be on the ground and on standby, while monitoring of the hydrological situation continues without interruption.
