Kreshnik Spahiu has called for the state to intervene to stop price abuses in tourism.

During a television interview, Spahiu said that the fall of the euro has caused tourists to spend 25 percent more foreign currency, while the strengthening of the lek should be accompanied not by an increase but by a decrease in prices.

"We cannot have predatory traders. In which touristic country of the world does a sun lounger cost 300 euros or 1 thousand euros with a bottle of champagne? You don't find them either in Monte Carlo or in the most luxurious places. On the other hand, Albanians are also abusing public spaces. A public beach does not mean that Albanians use it like a beach, they put an umbrella in June and take it down in September, you can't put up an umbrella for 6 months to use it for 6 days. Who gives you the right to use it as private property? Do you pay anything to the state?" Spahiu said.
