The director of the capital's fire department, Shkëlqim Goxhaj, stated that the fire in the building in the area of ??the former Bus Park is under control.

Goxhaj said in a statement to the media that the fire came from the second floor of the building.

He stated that it is still too early to talk about the causes of these flames that quickly climbed up to the terrace.

According to him, the spread of flames in the building was favored by the covering of the building with polystyrene.

" At this moment, the fire situation is under control. It is heading towards isolation. The eastern part is finished faster. We are continuing with the last hearth of the fire. It has grown rapidly. It was somewhere on the second floor and spread rapidly up to the terrace. We are interested in the citizens who have been there and we did the evacuation first. From the checks that we have done together with the police, it turns out that we have no injured citizens.

The fire has done a lot of damage and is heading towards isolation. At this moment we cannot talk about the cause of the fire, nor the final results. We will be here to ensure that there is no loss of citizens' lives. The fire was on the outside of the building. The doors are armored, at the moment we cannot verify them. Damaged are only those  apartments  that had open windows. At the moment we distinguish only two damaged entries, the rest must be verified.

The facade has spread the fire. Only a few who were injured from the respiratory side received first aid and we have no injured firefighters at this time. The situation is under control ", declared Goxhaj./CNA
